Idaho Falls Power now accepting 2026 Youth Rally scholarship applications

February 18, 2026

Idaho Falls Power (IFP) is now accepting applications for its 2026 Youth Rally Scholarship program, continuing its commitment to invest in the next generation of community leaders.

This year, IFP will award 10 scholarships to eligible Idaho Falls-area high school sophomores and juniors. Each selected student will receive a $500 college scholarship and a full sponsorship to attend the Idaho Community-Owned Utilities Association (ICUA) Youth Rally, held in Nampa at Northwest Nazarene University.

“At IFP, empowering the next generation of leaders is important,” said Interim General Manager Stephen Boorman. “As a community-owned utility, we know the future of reliable and affordable energy in Idaho Falls depends on the leadership and vision of today’s youth.”

The weeklong ICUA Youth Rally brings together students from Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska for an immersive leadership experience. Hosted at Northwest Nazarene University, the program includes team-building exercises, legislative tours, motivational speakers, and local excursions. Students develop skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, and perseverance while building lasting friendships.

Previous participant Anilyn Croft wrote, “ICUA Leadership camp didn’t just teach me how to lead. It put me in a room with peers who care deeply about their futures and their communities. Through intentional conversations, I learned how to connect with people beyond surface-level small talk and step confidently into leadership. This program creates the kind of young adults Idaho needs.”

At the conclusion of the rally, participants are evaluated and may earn up to $600 in additional scholarships based on their growth and performance. The highest-scoring student is selected to attend the National Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. In addition, one outstanding Idaho Falls student will be invited to return the following year and awarded the $500 Bobbi Wilhelm Memorial Scholarship.

IFP covers all expenses for students selected to attend the ICUA Youth Rally. To qualify, applicants must be current high school sophomores or juniors, and the student, parent, or legal guardian must be an Idaho Falls Power utility customer.

Applications are available at www.ifpower.org and will be accepted through April 15, 2026. For additional information, please contact Idaho Falls Power at (208) 612-8430.
