Sunnybrook and Merlin Infrastructure Upgrade - Starting July 16

Starting around July 16, 2025, Idaho Falls Power will be working on some important upgrades in the Sunnybrook and Merlin area to improve service reliability. Over the next 4-6 weeks, crews will be busy replacing underground electric cables and upgrading transformers. Replacement is expected to have minimal impact to the ground since crews will be pulling new wire through existing conduit. Work is expected to take place Monday through Friday during regular daylight hours, typically between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M. Utility vehicles, equipment and personnel may be working along the street and in front of or behind properties in the area.

Please keep a safe distance away from crews and equipment. Our goal is to enhance the quality and reliability of your electric service while minimizing disruption as much as possible. While we strive to have things go as smoothly as possible with minimal disprutions, please be prepared for:

  • Brief power outages: These will be short, lasting no more than 3-4 hours as crews safely pull new cables and switch over to the new equipment.
  • Temporary access restrictions: There may be times when access to driveways, easements, or alleyways are temporarily restricted while crews are actively working.
  • Construction noise: You can expect to hear some construction-related noise during work hours.
